Here’s information about myself, my experience and what I love to do.

What’s up everybody and welcome to Social Rec. I’m a Dallas, TX native, and I love the Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Cowboys. I went to school in the University of Texas at Austin and studied Multimedia Journalism. After I graduated, I moved to Houston, TX with my wife and we planted roots. I am extremely passionate about sneakers/style, sports, and the culture it has created so I decided to channel my passions into this site. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to contact me and let’s work together to share your story.

My Learning Experiences

Educator
(2015 – Current)
I’ve worked in education as a substitute teacher, an intervention specialist, a teacher, and leader. I love working with students, staff, and faculty. I enjoy building relationships that last beyond the four walls of a classroom. I am a life-long learner and love to engage in learning experiences with others. I’m looking to take that next step by developing professional learning for schools and districts.

Multimedia Communications/Marketing/Promotions
(2012-Current)
I’ve had the privileged working with the Houston Dynamo as a game day intern for almost three seasons. I’ve worked with Houston Press with their Promotions and Marketing team setting up many of the popular events around the city. I’ve worked as an intern for Coiski Media, creating content around a variety things including technology, social media, and learning. I currently work as a contributing writer for The Smoking Cuban, writing posts about the Dallas Mavericks.

Retail/Sales
(2005 – 2014)
I got my first job in 2005 working for Old Navy (Gap. Inc.) and learned the ins and outs of the retail/fashion world. I also had the chance to work for Finish Line as a sneaker associate. While there, I learned about sneaker technology, sales/initiatives, marketing and development, and customer service. I had a stint working with Nike as an athlete, and then made my way into retail banking with J.P. Morgan Chase, working with financial services and managing client accounts.
